Preventing Birth Defects

  • Ahead and during the pregnancy period, it is necessary for the pregnant woman to take multivitamins on a daily basis. And this should include for about four hundred micrograms of folic acid.
  • It is necessary to visit an OB-Gynecologist before pregnancy, to avail of the necessary pre-natal care needed throughout the pregnancy period.
  • If you are pregnant, you are then prohibited from drinking alcoholic beverages before, during, and after pregnancy.
  • Be cautious about everything that you take into your system including medicines being given to you. You have to keep in mind of your safety while you are pregnant. If you are not sure about your medications, then you should consult your doctor immediately.
